   According to The New York Times, "The Broadway revival of August Wilson’s Fences, starring Viola Davis and Denzel Washington, below, has recouped its $2.8 million capitalization after only eight weeks of performances, the producers Carole Shorenstein Hays and Scott Rudin announced on Monday." As of this writing,  Fences will run through July 11th.
   "Sometimes a play can bring out the best in an actor. And then there are times when an actor brings out the best in a play," writes Robert Trussell of The Kansas City Star. "To watch Denzel Washington as embittered ex-baseball player Troy Maxson in August Wilson's "Fences," which claimed a Pulitzer Prize in 1987, is to be in the presence of artistry so pure, so organic, that at times the thin film of make-believe is simply torn away."
